[TriLUG] samba file permissions

I once tried to add Linux groups to another group and it didn't seem to
work.

Ex: (from /etc/group)
group1:x:56643:group3,group2
group2:x:56644:user1,user2
group3:x:56645:user3,user4

gave group1 all permissions to a file, but users in group2 and group3 do
not have access.

Can this be done, and how?

Thanks!
