Thanks. It will be a couple days before i can try this. Short on time for a few days.  But I think it almost makes sense.

In case it helps to make things clearer, the library for the plugin goes
to: /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so

and a symbolic links gets created for Mozilla:
/usr/lib/mozilla-1.3.1/plugins/libflashplayer.so

You can check that you have a relevant symbolic link.
