Everyone,

Thank you for all your technical tips. I'm happy to inform everyone that my CD-ROM drive is now bootable :-) I was so inspired to check out more about the BIOS setup last night and found the following steps:

1. Power up the system
2. Press Fn+F3 to enter BIOS Setup screen
3. Highlight "Primary Slave",
4. Change the type to [Auto]
5. Return back to Setup screen,
6. Down arrow move highlight to "Boot Device Priority",
7. Move [ATAPI CD-ROM Drive] from priority 4 to priority 1
8. Return back to Setup screen by pressing ESC,
9. Exit saving Changes. Reboot the system

I hope this tip will help anyone with a Compaq Armada 6500 laptop. In fact, I am about to complete my website and will put this tip online as well :-) Thanks again y'all.

Only able to boot either W2K or DOS. Is it possible for me to boot linux from DOS or via BootMagic? My concern with BootMagic is if enabled it will be configured on the 1st sector of the hard drive where /boot currently resides.

Compaq's have a special boot menu. Try hitting scroll lock when the
bios screen shows up to see if you can see which key combination to
press to get into it. It seems like it's F12.

Boot Magick should be able to boot Linux, though I haven't done it
personally.
