[TriLUG] Mirroring RedHat 9 -- Net Install FTP/Boot CD issue

I rsync'ed the RHAT Linux 9 distribution from Ibiblio.org for a local
FTP server that I've set up. I know that there is a known issue with
the network/ftp install that has supposedly been resolved:

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=88884

This fix only seems to work for the boot floppies though, and not the CD
image (boot.iso). Has anyone seen a fix for that? I prefer to do the
network install with a bootable CD instead of the multiple floppies for
a number of reasons.

Here's what I have in my /..../en/os/i386/RedHat/base

> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 8257380 Mar 13 2003 comps.rpm
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 642457 Mar 13 2003 comps.xml
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 9728936 Mar 13 2003 hdlist
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 19066344 Mar 13 2003 hdlist2
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 10170368 Mar 13 2003 hdstg2.img
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 10502144 Mar 13 2003 netstg2.img
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 64114688 Mar 13 2003 stage2.img
> -rw-r--r-- 1 redhat users 131072 Sep 11 15:52 updates.img

I see that updates.img file in there, which I'm assuming is the fix, but
I still get the "unable to read header list" error when I do the FTP install

I get the "Retrieving /base/netstg2.img" but after the pre-configuration
phase during "Reading package information..." I get "Unable to read
header list. This may be due to a missing file or bad media. Press
<return> to try again."

Is there away to get the FTP install to work using the bootable
installer CD (typically located at
/home/redhat/9/en/os/i386/images/boot.iso)?

Thanks!
Jeff
