ACT! is feature poor in some areas and feature rich (integration with
Outlook) in other areas. If can you can reply back to the list with
specifically how ACT! fits into their workflow it might help figure what
would actually be a good solution. If they are just using it for a
distributed contact management database then there are a couple PHP/MySQL
projects I can think of. If they're using ACT! to set off alarms inside MS
Outlook to call contact xyz with a follow-up 3 days after a sales call then
that might be more difficult.

Compiere may not be a good solution while it seems to have a lot of
functionality the Oracle license it takes to run it may be more expensive
than the 5-10 ACT! licenes. Compiere is still working on database
indenpendence (PostgreSQL I believe)
