Hi Phil,

What you describe above is nearly identical to my method, except I:

  1) first eject the cardbus network adapter (either wired or wifi)

  2) *explicitly* kill dhclient ("sudo killall dhclient") since the 
     card ejection doesn't always seem to take care of it

  3) copy the config files as you described

  4) (re-)insert one of my cardbus network adapters
