From the context, I'm pretty sure 'Dark Side' means Microsoft Windows.

But why would you not consider security advice from a cracker?  If they
are truly a cracker, then they clearly know ways around security? 
Wouldn't you like to learn their ways in order to help combat them?  
Sure, verify everything you learn from other sources, but that applies
no matter who you are getting security advice from.
