I shoulda spelled this out better, but this machine has had an adaptec
scsi controller and scsi drive as its main system for 3+ years with no
such problems (once I got the QQ bios on the bp6).

It's possible that it's the controller or cable or drive, but it seems
like the maxtor testing would have verified at least 2 of those 3.

I'd even like to blame the HPT-366 controller that I have it off of,
but that seems less likely since Andre Hedrick had done that driver
himself and had one of those controllers.

I looked around and the QQ bios already on there is still the
recommended one for a Linux box.

IOW, I have basically all components in the "unlikely, but possible"
category, and as such I was hoping for some additional info on which
of the pile may be more likely than the others, esp. given the
specific errors I'm seeing :)
