Instead of bothering with those old K6-2's, I would just get a fast 
single processor.

Check into an AMD 2000XP - AMD 2500XP.  The latter can be had for $95, 
and a mobo for it could be as low as $60 + S/H.
Price Watch shows an AMD 1800XP for a little as $49.  This would blow a 
dual 500MHZ machine out of the water.

That said, the best way to speed up Mandrake 9.2 is to have gobs of 
memory.  At least 384M, if not more.

Check into www.newegg.com for good prices and good service.
