Hi Jim,

Wow, this thread generated more vitriol than I anticipated.  I was
really just trying to poke some good-natured fun at what I perceived as
a difference between the historically inclusive "Linux community
attitude" (if such a thing can be defined) and the "Windows-world
attitude" (again, a fuzzy thing).

I wasn't trying to be mean or to kick off yet another silly flame war. 
Sure, I was trying to make some points about attitude and motivation but
mostly I was trying to be *funny*.
