all,

i got rid of the first three errors by not using dhcp. now all i've got
is the SIOSIFFLAGS message though i admit that i would like to figure
out how to get dhcp working with this card.

Subject: [TriLUG] rh9 wireless on the vaio pcg-c1vpk

greetings,

i happily got rh9 installed on my vaio picturebook.

when i try to configure my 3com 3crwe737a wireless card i get errors.
they are of this type:

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device eth0: Invalid argument.
Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) :
SET failed on device eth0: Operation not supported.
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
 invalid argument "s:".

AND

Determining IP information for eth0...SIOCSIFFLAGS: Connection timed
out.

i get similar errors from redhat-config-network (the gui) or from
/etc/init.d/network start.

commands like cardctl, iwconfig, and ifconfig seem to give reasonable
output.

i'm hoping that someone can reply with some sarcasm about a simple thing
that i have obviously forgotten.

thanks,
stan
