Both of these boxes are on the same subnet - a full class c.
machine A is 192.168.172.100/24 and Machine B is 192.168.172.101/24
Neither are running iptables.
Unless there is another firewall app that runs by default at install on 
RH8 I should not have any fire walling between them.
