You get one FXO (external) interface with the T100P and one FXS
(internal) interface with the TDM10B. The TDM400P card that the page
references is built to host four FXS interfaces, with each interface
added with a piggyback card.

The alternative DevKit is a good way to go since you get a TDM400P board
that can be expanded as you go. Also, the S100U (the USB FXS device) in
the original DevKit is junk, from all accounts (including mine). So this
new DevKit is a welcome addition.

You can start even cheaper than that by buying just the T100P FXO card
and making all your internal extensions softphones like the X-Lite for
Windows and kphone for linux.

Yes it can. Lots of services out there. I believe FeatureTel can provide
dialtone to an Asterisk server (Jon???). Other services are
iconnecthere.com and connect.voicepulse.com.

These services provide SIP information which will go into Asterisk's
sip.conf file. Voicepulse.com offers Asterisk's native IAX protocol as
an option as well.

I will be putting together an Asterisk class for TriLUG in the upcoming
weeks which should help get people started with Asterisk.
