Exactly,
I am looking for a free, or almost free pxe type solution.

In my little world would be diskless stations that do a pxe boot and load
a slimmed down, policied out win 2k, then a terminal service app would
load on login. Thus eliminating anything but the app from being accessible
to the end user.

Thus I am looking at an opensource pxe (or similar) solution if such a
beasty exists.

[Jim Ray sez:] me thinks we're talking PXE network boot.
