Unfortunately, it's true about the cables sales _and_ the staff.  Not long
ago, a CompUSA foot-soldier insisted on disagreeing with me when I told him
that a laptop that retails for > $2000 should have a nic in it.  (They were
selling refurbs for $2000+, by the way.)  He told me that was rare because
nics are very expensive.  I asked him if he was out of his mind.
