[TriLUG] Synaptics Touchpad and 2.6.x Kernel

i've installed mdk10 (2.6.3 kernel) on two laptops (thinkpad r40 and dell
latitude ls) with synaptics touchpads, both worked fine except for the
tap-to-click feature.  mdk10 has a specific synaptics rpm (not installed
by default) that enables it.
