[TriLUG] quickbooks vs sql-ledger

I have used iif files for quite some time now to import Timer records from
a Domino web application into QuickBooks Pro.
Intuit does provide sample format files, which have always worked for me.
Obviously they would prefer you use their sw ($) for this functionality,
but they also see the need to support the external file formats.

If you would like to see the file layouts, go to:
http://www.quickbooks.com/support/
Select your version information then type "import" in the search field.
>From the results, click on "Obtaining Support for IIF Files"
The KB# is 200767

Alternatively, you could try searching on the KB# from
http://www.quickbooks.com/support/

Using IIF files might be the way to go to make such a migration.

Good luck!

Santiago.

This is a shameless plug, but my company has a product called Shoebox
Records, which is a accounting package geared toward the small business
/ consultant and designed with simplicity in mind. It's not "free"
software, but everyone that's used it has fallen in love with it...
Besides, it all runs on linux servers with mysql :-)

i know someone will rip me cause they can't access it with mozilla, but
that's out of my hands...and i've pushed for it for some time now, but
the user base hasn't been there yet. if you're having problems let me
know off list and i'll have more fuel for that fire.
