Websphere Administrator.
Length:  Six month contract to hire (perm)
Location:  Raleigh, NC
Hourly Rate $25-30/hr (W2, includes benefits - health and dental
insurance, 401K, holiday pay, free training, vacation pay)
 
Installs, configures and maintains Websphere Advanced Application
Servers on both Unix and Windows server environment. Installs and
maintains auxillary servers used in the web environment. Deploys custom
application code to application servers. Plans, coordinates and
implements security measures to safeguard information stored on these
servers. Monitors site traffic and helps scale site capacity to meet
traffic and performance demands. Monitors systems to ensure proper
functioning of hardware, operating system, applications and production
jobs. Required Experience: Advanced administration skills with Websphere
Advanced Application Server in a J2EE environment. Strong knowledge of
web security issues including firewalls, intrusion detection, LDAP and
operating system and object level security. Strong working knowledge of
networking including routing and Internet protocols. General knowledge
of HTML, Java, complex tables, frames and multiple web development
programs. Experience with Unix a huge plus. At least three years of
advanced system administration skills on Windows NT or 2000 Server as
well as HTTP Servers such as MS IIS or Apache required. Experience with
load balancing and replication across multiple server and sites a plus.
Experience monitoring and understanding web site performance required.
