Oh. I don't think its too much.  It's not like they're asking you
to leap tall buildings in a single bound, be faster than a 
speeding bullet, or be more powerful than a locomotive.

While researching this reply I came across this interesting
article about the strength of Superman versus mortals. It also
talks about his increase in capabilities over time.  I thought
there were similarities in the requirements for tech jobs.  Over time,
requirements increase to the point where they become
hyperbolic.  To follow in the same vein of thinking as the article,
it would be interesting to chart the "Paul Bunyanization" of the
tech worker.
