By far the best option for non-tri-band cards with a 2.6x kernel IMO,
and there is a list there of supported cards. Get the firmware that
you need from the prism54 site and you will have a wealth of options
using the common wireless-tools package for regular use, scanning, and
AP functionality. I am running mine on a debian machine with 2.6.8.
