[TriLUG] disabling screen blanking

Setterm got rid of one type of blanking.  If I do not start X,
the display stays on without blanking.

However, now I am getting that darned X screen saver (I can see
the X logo briefly when I press a key).

I know that I did a "/usr/X11R6/bin/xset s off" in two places...
once in xinitrc and again in my application's start-up.  I
verified that "xset q" says "prefer blanking: no, timeout: 0,
cycle: 0".

It's funny... I have never in my life seen that X screen saver
(not to be confused with xscreensaver).  Now I am seeing it
all over!
