yes, signal is poor where I am (Durham) and it took a long
time to get a dhcp connection. I had to bring the modem to
a TriLUG meeting to get someone to show me that it was just
a regular dhcp device - I was beginning to think it had a 
proprietary interface. I know where to put it in the
house now to get a connection, but no green lights come on.

Don't know the bandwidth, haven't given it a big test yet 
(I installed it for a friend).
