[TriLUG] OT - Sony VAIO model PCG-9211 (PCG-F580)

It would seem that someone did one of a few things to this laptop,
fortunately or not, it wasn't a cleanable coffee spill.

Someone:

1.  dropped it
2.  sat on it
3.  stepped on it
4.  all the above?

(and it wasn't me!)

The LCD screen is cracked, thus not working.  The plastic shell around
the display is intact and the hinges appear fine.  I can attach the
laptop to an external monitor and still use it.  Does anyone have any
recommendations (besides Sony) on where I might seek a replacement
display??  I believe the company is going to write off the laptop, so
I figure I'll try to salvage some usage out of it for myself since it
will technically "be in the trash".

I'm planning, if salvagable, to run Linux on it... :)
