[TriLUG] Gentoo Install Problem

When you chrooted, did you do follw up with 'env-update' and 'source
/etc/profile'?  If you haven't I bet that will fix it.  I had the same
problem but generally speaking the install disk did the trick and got
me out of a lot of problems (including fixing grub).
