I just dabble with this stuff since I lack any type of artistic 
talent...  but one thing I *really* liked about GIMP 1 was the 
on-the-fly assignment of control keys to menu functions. You'd select 
the menu function, press the desired key combination and it was 
assigned.  It was simple, functional and seemingly unique to the GIMP.

It appears to be gone in v2... true?
