[TriLUG] /etc/enviornment and proxy servers

This problem was solved by using a different login name and password. 
I have no idea how the proxy server will let my username and pw out by
setting the proxy server in Firefox, mozilla, and IE on XP, but not
from the command line to do apt-gets, yums, etc.  Very strange.

But I was finally able to run my apt-get using someone else's login
(ssshhhh!! that part is a secret).
