There will be a meeting of the North Carolina System Administrators on
August 8, 2005 at the Dreyfus Auditorium at RTI International at 7pm. 
Doors open at 6:30pm and this meeting is expected to conclude by 9pm.

Fundamental Elements of IT - What Folks Really Need to Know

A functional breakdown of what people do with PCs with examples of
both commercial and open source applications. Management techniques
include non technical fixed and variable cost analysis and simplified
engineering methodology.

Bio: Jim Ray has enjoyed computers since 1975 and applies the academic
background  from an electrical engineering degree towards successful
design, deployment and operation of computers and networks in
commercial and industrial environments. Jim is a senior member of IEEE
and had joined in 1981. Dovetailing the engineering and business
backgrounds allowed Jim to form Neuse River Network, Inc. in 1997. The
company's expertise has evolved from electrical engineering, audio
engineering and phone systems to turn-key IT management for large
corporate networks and single-PC offices.
