I remember, probably when I was in high school...  A friend of mine
bought OS/2 2.0.  He bought it on CD-ROM because it was cheaper...  He
didn't have a CD-ROM drive, but I did.  So he came over to my house with
a big stack of floppies and the disc.  I think we had to repeat this
process more than once, because some of the floppies wouldn't read in
his machine :p.

I remember installing it myself, but my proprietary Sony 1x CD-ROM drive
(which I recall costing around $500 :p) wasn't supported :).

My first computer was a TI 99/4a.  I wanted an Atari for Christmas that
year...  I think I learned a lot more than I would have from a 2600 :).
