You can use the WIndows boot loader to bootstrap into Linux.  You need to have 
grub or LILO or something installed somewhere other than the master boot 
record.

This HOWTO explains how.  I'm using it to dual boot Win XP and Linux on the 
machine I'm using right now.  :-)
