Unfortunately, most of these 'thieves' are zombified home computers
(read: windows).  It's better to try and report it, or just block it, so
maybe the owner will find out and get it fixed, instead of deleting all
of grandma's hard drive, getting rid of some malware in the process.  To
use the road rage analogy, it's like you're being tailgated by a
carjacker, who's taken hostages.  You don't want to blow up his car ;]
