Tekelec has 5 openings in the following position.  This is the newly

Location:NC, Morrisville

Job Description:
Responsible for facilitating/supporting, validation and verification
of Tekelec 3G IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) products at customer
sites. Introduce new Tekelec IMS solutions into customer lab facility
and production Networks. Assist customer with Tekelec product testing
within joint Tekelec/customer lab facility. Provide results of testing
to Tekelec and customer. Conduct Trials, Demo's, and First Office
Application activities.

Must be willing to learn new skills by working closely with the
different development organizations as the products are being
developed. Responsibilities include a high level understanding of SIP
and Open Systems in order to accurately evaluate products in customer
environments and provide feedback to development when issues arise.
Product evaluation will include working with the customer as the
customer interface for scheduling installations, generating test
plans, data collection and analysis, and resolution of customer issues
for the Network Signaling Group.

Working from the Engineering Functional Design specifications and
Feature/System/Solution Level Test Plans, create and support Solution
Trial Plans within the IMS Reference Architecture such as Fixed/Mobile
Convergence (FMC), Multi-Media Instant Messaging (MMIM), SMS Over
EvDO, Legacy Hosted Services, Intelligent Network (IN-IN services),
including hardware and lab requirements, Execution Plan, test
equipment requirements, and support strategy. Testing involves
integrating multiple devices and products into a complete Tekelec
solution.

This position is responsible for defining, coordinating, and executing
all IMS product integration activities for all Tekelec products as
assigned. This includes;
• Early involvement in the definition phase of each potential product
• Implementation activities such as installation, training, on and off
site trial/demos
• Planning and execution of the First Office Application (FOA)
• Must provide customer support to the customer and field engineers
• Will perform the role of Subject Matter expert for all items related
to the product
• Will provide support and mentoring to Field engineering team

Must be able to work from third party documentation and internally
developed engineering documents to create IMS solution trial test
plans, FOA plans, Execution plans, including duration estimates,
hardware and lab requirements, and test tools requirements.

Perform reviews of technical documentation, including design
specifications, test plans and customer documentation, and provide
feedback to the author through review meetings and written feedback.

Must be able to travel to site, successfully install, test, and obtain
sign off for deployed IMS solutions and other special NextGen New
Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

The ability to work productively with global customers, product
management, Customer Service, and R&D resources is critical to success
in this job.

Summary of Qualifications:
Requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or
Engineering Technology or equivalent related experience. Ability to
work with personal computers including word processors, spreadsheets,
and databases. Experience with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP desired. Must
have excellent customer interfacing and project management skills as
well as problem solving/analytical skills. Strong leadership ability,
oral/written communications and ability to work effectively with team
members required. Must have knowledge of various X86 architectures, C,
UNIX, and shell/scripting languages, SIP protocol, relational
databases, and 3GPP specifications. Minimum of a CCNA network
certification knowledge required. CCDP or CCVP Cisco certification a
plus. Must have at least an RHCT level of knowledge with Linux. Having
an RHCE a plus. Knowledge of Advanced Telecom Computer architecture
hardware (ATCA) a plus. Must be able to perform in critical situations
and be willing to travel with minimal notice. Requires the ability to
work with others, the ability to communicate, and the ability to
foster teamwork.
