[TriLUG] tar help?

Well, there are quite a few people on the list that are willing to help
you learn. I believe someone was even working on a wiki entry for
essential linux knowledge.

When I started...oh, 8 years ago, I relied on a number of resources, but
primarily they were a Red Hat Linux Unleashed book (Red Hat 4.2 of all the
ancient distributions) and a mentor named Mark Spencer (Of Asterisk PBX
fame, and former classmate of mine).

Generally that's what it takes though, is some basic intro text and people
who are willing to take some time to impart their knowledge.
