Try this:

env-update && etc-update && source /etc/profile
emerge -pv glibc

(I'm not sure if you'll see glibc-omitfp in there or not. I'll check
when I get home tonight).

actually, when I set my use flag to include the glibc-omitfp and did
emerge --newuse -v world --pretend

I was assuming it was going to show a re-emerge of glibc, like it says
on http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Optimise_glibc

but I didnt see glibc in the list of stuff to be updated.. so I didnt do
it..
is that right?
