Excellent suggestions.  I would also suggest
- CPAN (documentation on lots of useful modules)
- Learning Perl (depending on how much you already know)
- either the ORA Perl Pocket Reference or an excellent Perl book I got 
some years ago by Que (will look up the title when I get home if I can 
remember to; the author is Liam O'Foghlu (spelling is questionable on the 
surname))

And of course I'm happy to help with perl tidbits (shaldannon on #trilug 
or email me)
