Hmm, can't be for certain w/ Mandriva, as I've never used it, but the 
blacklist format for modprobe is

blacklist driver

so

blacklist rt2500

might work; if that doesn't, perhaps just the driver name on a line by 
itself would work.

Additionally, the modprobe.conf(5) and modprobe(8) man pages might have 
more info specific to the distro.
