[TriLUG] ubuntu: 6.10 desktop, 6.06 server, ooffice 2.0, nfs

all,

with the subject configuration i am unable to save files(1). i thought that
it might be unbuntu bug #58508 and tried the LD_PRELOAD fix(2). no love. i
thought that i remembered a thread on trilug that referenced a problem
similar to this (slow nfs writes [in ubuntu?]) but couldn't find the thread.

any suggestions?

(1) when i try to save anything in an nfs mounted directory the client
pauses (for about a minute) and then gives the error in the attached png
file.
(2) bash_prompt$ export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.3; ooffice
