Ask not what TriLUG can do for you; ask what YOU can do for TRILUG!
Parody aside, as one of the "minor members" (card-carrying, but I rarely
make it to meetings, don't post an awful lot, only been involved for
maybe 5 years or so), I appreciate the "off-topic" discussions when they
come around. From my observations, TriLUG /is/ a community, and perhaps
some consideration should be given to the idea that "on topic" is more
"things of a nature which interest members of the Linux-using community"
rather than strictly "questions and answers related to Linux." I'm not
sure I'd be happy to see the TriLUG discussion list (it is a
"discussion" list by name, after all--says it right up there in the
Reply-To) become a list that is all formal and quiet for all but the
most directly Linux-related threads. Nevertheless, such a tightening of
protocol wouldn't send me packing, either. (What happened to
trilug-ot?)
Ended up a bit rambly.. Coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
Cheers,
~B
