Ok, thanks. Let me get back to you on the Orb test as I have to open the port on my firewall at the house first. I'll e-mail when it's available and you can check it out when you get time. It's designed to stream to just about any platform (using some proprietary algorithm) so I'm sure it will work. I use it at home to turn my kids Nintendo Wii in to a home theater system.

Just had a thought, it would be nice if there was an Orb-like system where users could essentially hang all of their media files off on the Internet for public access. There would be an aggregrator of some kind to allow users to just pick from a particular server and access the content. Obviously that opens a can of worms for copyright issues, but not much worse than typical P2P systems now. The advantage, however, would be that users wouldn't have to move the entire file over the net, but could instead simply stream the content in real-time. Perhaps this already exists?

Kevin

http://maemo.org/community/wiki/ApplicationCatalog has a list of
applications that can be installed

As for using the 770 as a media player, its pretty light in the CPU
and RAM departments, so I'm not sure how well that would work. I use
it for web surfing and as a really fancy remote control for my home
music server. Before I got hooked on google maps on my cell phone I
used maemo mapper a lot.

If you have an orb server up I would be happy to try accessing it with
my 770 and let you know how it works.
