can you build the drives as Volumes?(ie not raid 0 or 1).  I have noticed
with the LSI and adaptec hostraid solutions that if you build them as
volumes then they are seen as regular SCSI disks and then can be installed
on without any issues.  That is what I just did with a system that had the
required the adp94xx driver (and the one in the kernel no likee the raid 1
on it).
