I remember Luke Kanies from freenode #cfengine back in the day.  If he
has written a cfengine competitor, I'm definitely going to look into it
-- he has a real understanding of cfengine's shortcomings.

Yup, looks like he nailed it.  XML-RPC instead of cfservd?  Written in
ruby?  Rock on...
