What kind of broadcast would this have?  Where would the domain end?  I
suppose it would be something similar to a cable internet broadcast
domain where everyone on the street is in the same broadcast.

I thought it would be big for home networking.

Then wireless LANs got cheap and easy to deploy.  Poof!.
