[TriLUG] Good Hosting company?

In a word (well two words, I guess): data persistence.

If/when your Xen image fails or gets restarted, you lose all data you've
accumulated on its 'disk' that hasn't been backed up to an external storage,
such as Amazon's S3 or an actual disk server somewhere. Until someone finds
a way to have the EC2 disk writes automatically replicated, EC2 will not
fill the simple hosting niche. There have been a few ways documented around
the web to create this automatic replication, but none of them are
straight-forward or simple.

EC2 is great for throwing more servers at computation or bandwidth problem,
but for the *sole* solution of hosting and serving data, it has its
pitfalls.
