Funny, I know people who have been successfully taken to court over 
these "can't work at another IT job within a 50 mile radius for three 
years" kind of agreements in NC. The euphemistically titled "right to 
work" law in NC has nothing to do with non-compete agreements. NC's 
so-called "right to work" law is here:
