[TriLUG] What's rc abbreviated for in bashrc or cshrc?

Dear TriLUG,

I was just wondering what's rc abbreviated for in the Unix lingo --  
e.g. bashrc/cshrc? Is it 'runlevel config' as in rc.conf :-/?
