Hi,

GIMP for photo editing, UFRaw (http://ufraw.sourceforge.net/) & dcraw
(http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/) for raw file processing.
I've also used, but not regularly Hugin
(http://hugin.sourceforge.net/) - which can do some neat panorama and
perspective correction.

For messing around with creating HDR images I use a combination of
Cinepaint (http://www.cinepaint.org/) and pfstools/pfstmo
(http://www.mpi-inf.mpg.de/resources/pfstools/) .

David.
