SENIOR LINUX ADMINISTRATOR - PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY

If you are looking for a fresh start and want to work with an exciting
technical company new to the Triangle area, then we have the position
for you! Our client is looking to hire over 300 new, talented employees
from the Triangle region in the next two years. If you are a Senior
Linux Administrator looking for something different take a look at the

Responsibilities: Responsible for expanding and maintaining multi-site
multiplatform IT network with Linux as the backbone.

 Maintain high level of security, performance, scalability, and uptime
for all our systems and networks.

Assist employees in maintaining and using their IT hardware and
software.

Act as a team lead to other System Administrators.
Protect company Intellectual Property and other sensitive data.
Manage backups and recoveries for both corporate and employee
data.

Enforce company rules as specified in company documents such as
the Employee Handbook.

Create policies, procedures, and manuals in precise detail to support
all processes and systems.

Identify, review, recommend, and install new technologies and
processes applicable to our IT infrastructure.

Source and procure IT equipment and software.
Develop and manage to budgets.
Mentor and train less experienced System Administrators.
Be on call and work after hours if required.


Minimum Qualifications:

University degree in Computer Science or similar.
Significant (5+ years) administering geographically dispersed,
heterogeneous networks of 50+ users with varying computer skills.
Strong background in building and maintaining a mainly Linux/Unix
based network infrastructure with a strong knowledge of Windows

and Mac platforms.

Significant (5+ years) experience in MS Active Directory design,
implementation and migration.

Knowledgeable in the use of scripting languages such as shell scripts
and Perl.

Familiar with tape backup systems.
Knowledge of networking hardware infrastructure and principles.
Knowledge of IP Telephony.
Exposure to SAN / Direct Access Storage environments.
Familiar with American statutory requirements with respect to digital
records.

Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to manage projects with little supervision and direction.
Ability to work under extreme pressure and prioritize tasks
Candidate with the following qualifications will be given a special
consideration:
Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience designing and building a multi-office networking
infrastructure from the ground up.
