The Everex Cloudbook is coming out this month and will be available at Wal-Mart(.com), no less, for about $400: http://www.everex.com/ and http://gizmodo.com/342808/everex-cloudbook-coming-to-walmartcom

For about $80 more you can get the Nokia 810 with a touchscreen and built-in GPS: http://www.nokiahowto.com/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_607318

Both run on Linux. If I had $500 to spend, I'd put it on that Nokia, but that's just my .02 cents.

Actius PC-MM10. I like it a lot - particularly its extremely light weight
and ease of carrying. However, battery life is poor. Any advice? I need
it to run linux competently and preferably have built-in both ethernet and
wi-fi. Built-in bluetooth would be a plus, but not an important one. Very
light and good battery life are the most important.

Thanks,
