If you don't want to be *responsible* for keeping your systems free of
XSS vulnerabilities or any of the various other badnesses that can
befall webapps, then don't host webapps on your systems. All webapps
will have vulnerabilities and must be kept updated. If you host one,
get on the mailing list for it and keep it updated. Going with your
distro's packaged version of the webapp is handing off responsibility
to the distro, and for some people that's fine.

It's a blog. WTF are you doing worrying about its security? If you
want to be "secure" don't blog.
