...there's already the capability to flash your phone with Android. It's
going to be interesting to see how far this one goes....

Hi,

Just wanted to spread the word that as of today, there is a new
"officially" open source Linux-based phone on the market. Google has
followed through on their promise to open the Android code base. The
majority of the Android platform is licensed under the Apache 2.0
license according to the site. The first phone to use Android (the
T-Mobile G1) is set to be released tomorrow (10/22). But I'm sure the
porting to existing devices has already begun.
