There's one local company that is working on putting VERY low power
ARM-based processors into small laptops, netbooks and other gadgets.

Their RTP office was founded by some PowerPC guys from IBM, but was
later purchased by Qualcomm as they were looking for investment. Their
1GHz snapdragon chip is a power-sipping miser.

Good stuff. Local folks. And Linux under the hood (on some models).
